FREMONT, Calif. (June 29, 2006)
— Phihong USA, the global leader in low-cost power supplies, has developed a cost-effective 5W linear replacement adapter. The PSAA05A provides high efficiency in a small package size, making it ideal for applications such as MPEG players, PDAs and digital cameras.
“The linear eliminator is CEC and Energy Star compliant,” said Keith Hopwood, vice president of marketing for Phihong USA. “Housed in a small footprint
and providing 5W of power, it is a low-cost solution for many personal electronics OEMs.”
Measuring just 2.59 x 1.55 x 1.07 inches and weighing 3.0 ounces, the adapter features double insulation and class B EMI. The adapter is equipped with an auto restart for
short circuit protection, and the output can be shorted permanently without damage. It also features a DC output connector of a mini USB.
The 5W adapter features a no-load power consumption of less than 0.3W at 230VAC, and a low leakage current of 20?A. AC input voltage is 100VAC to 240VAC with a maximum
AC input current of 0.3A at 90VAC. DC output voltage is 5.15V and the device has maximum over-voltage protection of 6.7VDC (?0.5). The PSAA05A linear eliminator adapter is approved and listed by cUL/UL, TUV, CE, SAA, and C-TICK for 60950-1 safety approvals.
Pricing for the PSAA05A adapter starts at $4.25 in quantities of 1,000. Lead time is from stock to 8 weeks. A detailed specification is available on the Web site at www.phihong.com.
