PHIHONG'S PSS22U MEDICAL ADAPTER DELIVERS LOW LEAKAGE CURRENT, CARRIES WORLDWIDE MEDICAL APPROVALS
Fremont, CA (June 24, 2002) - Providing medical design engineers with a reliable adapter for their power supply solutions with low leakage current, Phihong offers
its PSS22U adapter switching power supply with low leakage current of less than 0.1 mA @ 264 VAC. The adapter delivers up to 24W of power with many standard
models with output voltages from 3.3V to 24.0V.
The adapter measures 4.3" x 2.28" x 1.27" and weighs 206g (6023oz). Featuring all
standard medical approvals, the adapter delivers universal AC input and EMI Class B approvals. The PSS22U adapter is designed for use in blood and fluid
analyzers and non-patient contact instruments.

With efficiency at 80%, the PSS22U adapter exhibits a hold-up time of 16mS at 115VAC and 64mS at 230VAC. PSS22U adapters deliver high efficiency for medical applications while offering excellent overload protection. The adapter's overload
protection delivers from 115-130% of maximum power during short circuit or power foldback conditions and is self-recovering. The PSS22U adapter's output voltage
returns in less than 3mS following a 50% load change.
PSS22U adapters offer EMI (conducted) approvals such as EN 55022 and FCC
Class B. Manufactured using an impact resistant thermo plastic enclosure made of SE100 94V0 Nylon, the PSS22U adapter's input accepts 90 to 264 VAC with
frequencies from 47Hz to 63Hz.
Safety approvals include UL2601 Class 1, CE, IEC 601 and EN 60601. Phihong can get the adapters approved to nearly any commercial safety agency requirement
worldwide for OEM applications.
Pricing is $19.75 per 1,000 pieces with lead times of 12 weeks. Samples will be available in July 2002.
