CLEARANCE: The shortest distance between two conductive parts, or between a conductive part and the bounding surface of the equipment measured through air. CREEPAGE DISTANCE: The shortest path between two conductive parts or between a conductive part and the bounding surface of the equipment, measured along the surface of the insulation.
