Job duties:

• Conduct test and verification of system and component level thermal solution by using computational fluid dynamic (CFD) simulation tool, and 3D & 2D CAD modeling tools.
• Facilitate with the R&D team in planning and executing testing required to refine thermal systems.
• Understand testing needs, milestones & deliverables, test capacity, manage priorities, and communicate schedule to key stakeholders.
• Develop thermal test plans, using thermal chambers, thermocouples, thermal meters and power supplies, creating tests and instrumentation for data collection and reporting, performing tests.
• Work with product engineer to optimize the thermal solution and go through qualification process to transfer the product into mass production.
• Investigate failures through physical testing of our thermal products to accurately predict the system’s robustness and optimize product reliability.
• Facilitate failure analysis to understand root cause and drive resolution for failures originating in testing.
• Participate in failure and Root Cause Analysis of sub-systems and components from validation, reliability, and/or field testing.
• Author and release test procedures for development testing, acceptance testing, qualification testing & certification testing for the thermal systems and components.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineer, Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Energy Engineering, or related fields plus two years of experience in thermal engineering and testing.

Must have two (2) years of experience in the following disciplines:

• Thermal testing engineering in manufacturing environment.
• HVAC refrigeration systems in an automotive or similar industry.
• Air flow characterization (pressure drop measurement and air flow determination).
• Theory and methodologies for heat transfer and electrical circuits.
• Lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies and analyzers etc.
• Testing thermal systems experience around integration testing.
• Test data collection and analysis.
• CAD tools, CAD models, hand sketches, and technical drawings.

Job Location: Fremont, CA

Annual Salary: $102,000 – $110,000
