Senior Engineering Manager

Location: Northern California

Responsibilities:
  • Use broad expertise and unique knowledge of power supply design engineering skills and expertise to lead the product engineering team and contribute to development of company objectives and achieve engineering as well as business goals in effective ways.
  • Manage and coordinate strategic OEM account programs and activities, involving switching power supply and manufacturing engineering as well as developing new generation of cost-effective ac/dc, dc/dc, and dc/ac conversion circuits with superior performance; conceptualize, design and approve innovative design process and quality assurance procedures adhering to company?s rules and guidelines of Design For Manufacture (DFM).
  • Conceptualize designs that meet customer?s specifications before prototyping; Evaluate designs in how it performs in the production process, and coordinate between the engineering design and mechanical manufacturing; obtain customers? technical requirements and translate to company specifications.
  • Confer with management, production, and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures; coordinate customers? technical requirements and business prospects when implementing engineering developmental and manufacturing projects.
  • Work closely with company engineering and factory production and manufacturing personnel to develop quotations custom-tailored to meet customer requirements.
  • Estimate production costs, cost saving methods, and the effects of product design changes on expenditure.
  • Manage and implement quality control procedures to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize costs.
Requirements:
  • BS in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering and five years post-baccalaureate progressive product design and management experience in switching power supply.
  • Must have deep technical knowledge on the design and topology selection of switching power supplies.
  • Must have experience in managing and coordinating strategic OEM account programs and activities, involving switching power supply (from low power flyback converters to high efficiency resonant topologies) and manufacturing engineering as well as developing new generation of cost-effective ac/dc, dc/dc, and dc/ac conversion circuits with superior performance; conceptualize, design and approve innovative design process and quality assurance procedures adhering to company?s rules and guidelines of Design For Manufacture (DFM), bench testing, direct engineering interface with customers, cost reductions, mass production, and strategic planning.
  • Must be knowledgeable on the relevant regulation and safety standards that apply to the switching power supply category.
